Christmas day should be one of the most fun and enjoyable days in the year, when family comes together over a massive feast and spend the day in utter relaxation. However, if you wear the wrong outfit you will find yourself in discomfort throughout the day and you might not enjoy Christmas as much as you should.
We all know we shouldn’t, but on Christmas Day, most of us eat until we are full, and then we eat seconds and thirds. I personally have not had enough turkey and roast potatoes until I feel sick. Then you can give your stomach a few minutes of rest before digging into Christmas pudding and trifle.
This kind of eating leaves you feeling full to busting and very hot as your body works to burn off all the turkey and trimmings. If you don’t wear the right clothes, you will feel restricted around your belly and might get a bit sweaty. So what should you and your family wear?
o Little girls are easy to dress as they look cute in everything. Girls party dresses can be purchased in a variety of styles and shapes. A velour or velvet party dress with tights will look lovely and they can wear the dress to other seasonal events as well. If you buy one that does not restrict, they will feel comfortable throughout the day.
o Young Boys can get away with wearing a shirt and jeans or trousers to Christmas dinner whilst looking smart. If you put a tank top over the shirt they can take this off as they get hotter and many trousers come with a flexible waistband.
o For ladies it can be very difficult knowing what to wear at Christmas so you look fashionable and smart yet feel comfortable. Dresses are the best option as you can wear them with a belt before dinner then let loose once you have filled your boots. A nice woolen dress with tall boots and tights looks very smart but may be a little warm. Look for a dress in a cooler material that can be worn with tights and boots or nice shoes.
o Most men do not even care what they are wearing on Christmas day so long as they can eat however much they want and play with their children’s Christmas presents after dinner. A smart pair of trousers with a thin jumper or a shirt will always be a classic look, and they can pop open the button when they get too full.
Having a good time with your friends and family is what modern day Christmas is all about for many of us. We want to look nice without feeling stiff and uncomfortable all day, especially after a mammoth Christmas lunch. Find an outfit that is loose and flexible whilst maintaining a party look. You can always jazz up a more casual outfit with jewellery, shoes and hair accessories.
